Conflict Management

Course description

Tension between people at work is natural. Research shows that it’s an inevitable part of working with others: in large, diverse teams, it is unlikely that everyone will always agree and share the same goals. But we can learn to manage conflict to keep our workplace relationships healthy and our projects successful. This course is designed to develop your ability to ensure a well-functioning work environment. It helps you build skills to effectively navigate interpersonal conflict so that it doesn’t adversely impact mental health and emotional well-being—yours and your team’s. It can make anyone a change agent for a happier, healthier workplace!

Learning objectives

  • Identify the elements of conflict and learn how to intervene.

  • Learn the five modes available for handling conflict, and when it’s best to use each one.

  • Find out how to use eight skills to resolve conflict in a healthy way.

  • Learn strategies to work around interpersonal differences, not against them.

  • Learn how to leverage conflict so that it brings out the best in others.
