NEW for fall 2022! Getting Personal About Change: From Resistance to Resilience

Course description

Heraclitus’s age-old saying, “the only constant in life is change,” couldn’t be truer in our 21st-century personal and professional lives. More often than not, we all struggle to change our behaviour for reasons that are more emotional than intellectual. As management guru Peter Senge claims, we don’t resist change, we resist being changed. This four-week course reframes the root causes of mindsets that block change and introduces approaches to change that underscore improved wellbeing, confidence, and the courage to, at the very least, stay steady through change.

Learning objectives

  • Determine when to initiate personal change to accomplish your goals through understanding and evaluating six evidence-based lifestyle fundamentals that contribute to fortified wellbeing.

  • Identify root behaviour that helps or hinders, then learn to lean into growth.

  • Recognize resistance tactics and how to move through change— from exploration to acceptance to commitment and execution.

  • Identify and explore your unique constellation of strengths, then learn how to leverage these strengths to handle change.

  • Develop tactical tenacity: Discover strategies to recognize when you’ve hit your capacity to deal with change, then learn approaches to expand that capacity.

Target audience:
All employees
